Lelo Hugo is part of a select offering of prostate massagers from Lelo. This one belongs to the premium Insignia range toys from Lelo, and has the same ABS plastic plus silicone combo. Hugo prostate massager, for all practical use purposes is all silicone, with the plastic forming more of a background accent. Hugo is a successful dude, not just for Lelo, but in the general category of prostate massagers. Let’s see what makes it tick and go deeper with our Lelo Hugo review.
Lelo Hugo Packaging — First Impressions
Lelo Hugo arrives in the usual style and packaging of Lelo products. The packaging is elegant, and the product box has a little plastic window showing the Hugo inside. Here’s what you’ll find inside the box:
- Lelo Hugo prostate massager
- Wireless remote control (SenseMotion remote)
- Satin storage pouch
- USB charging cord
- A sachet of water-based lube
- Warranty registration card (1 year warranty and 10 year quality guarantee)
- 2xAAA batteries for the SenseMotion Remote
- Instruction manual
- A key to open the battery compartment on the remote
Keep in mind, there can be slight variations in extras included in the package, sometimes dependent on the retailer you purchase them from or on available offers. Personally, I prefer purchasing directly from Lelo, if only for that awesome 10 year quality guarantee. Lelo Hugo is available in three colors: Black, Deep Rose, and Ocean Blue.
Lelo Hugo Prostate Massager Features And Review
The insertable end of the Hugo has a slightly large circumference and size. It is by no means intimidating, but is perhaps best used by someone who has previous experience with anal toys. Lelo says the Hugo vibrating prostate massager can be used by beginners, but I won’t suggest it as a first toy.
Lelo Hugo is perhaps best used after a slight warm up. When ready, just add lube and start off, slowly. It’s best to use water-based lubricant with silicone toys, never use a silicone based lubricant as that can harm the toy.
The Hugo has two appendages. One goes to massage the prostate, while the other is placed on the perineum. The vibrations produced by this combo are amazing, and will make their way into giving you an amazing prostate-orgasm, or P-Orgasm as it is also called.
Lelo Hugo is shaped to body contours and fits in fairly comfortably. The user can walk around and even sit down without the vibrating prostate massager being a problem. Of course, that depends on individual preferences, and some may prefer using a conventional plug like the Lelo Bob to walk around, and the Lelo Hugo for when they’re in their room.
Lelo Hugo has one button on it to control the vibrations, cycling through the preset pattern modes. It can go through a total of six pattern modes. Reaching back down and pushing buttons isn’t the best way to go around, especially if the intention is to walk around doing your thing, or even a bit of public play. That is why, it is so much more better that the Lelo Hugo has a remote.
Lelo Hugo With SenseMotion Remote
Lelo Hugo has been built to go along with the SenseMotion remote. Of course, as already mentioned, you could use it without the remote, but that isn’t quite as easy, and it lacks a few functions. Simply turning on the Hugo and SenseMotion Remote will sync them into action. Unlike Lelo Hugo, that simply has one button, the remote has more buttons and can spur the Hugo into a wider range of vibrations.
One major difference is that the remote can be used to control the intensity of the vibrations. Without the remote, the Hugo goes into one of the higher intensity modes. Now that is good, but some of us like to start slower, or have better control over vibration intensity.
The second difference is that with the remote in play, your partner can be a part of the experience. It doesn’t have to be a solo act, and it is that much more fun when your partner can be involved! Plus, with the SenseMotion technology in play, gestures on the remote affect the vibration strength of the Lelo Hugo. There’s a whole new realm to play, be creative and be naughty.
SenseMotion has three modes. In the first mode, the vibration intensity is directly related to the placement of the remote. If it is horizontal, vibrations in the Lelo Hugo are at 10% intensity. The intensity increases steadily until the remote is vertical, where the intensity hits 100%. In the second mode, intensity of vibrations varies with how fast the remote is shaken.
In the the third mode, the SenseMotion remote reaches the classic Lelo preset patterns and intensity controls. Pressing the () button on the remote cycles through modes and patterns. While on patterns, pressing the + or – buttons increases/decreases the intensity of vibrations.
Public Play With The Hugo — How Noisy Is It?
Whether going solo, or with your partner, you may think of a little outing. Going to public places with the Lelo Hugo inserted, and with the remote at hand to bring in waves of pleasure. The first thing to know is that the Hugo can be a bit noisy. Well, it’s not loud and the noise generally stays below 50dB level, which is generally the same as a regular conversation.
So yes, it can be heard, and probably don’t wear it to that boring meeting to kill away time. For areas with background noise however, the Lelo Hugo can work just fine. Also, keep in mind that the SenseMotion remote vibrates with the same intensity as the Lelo Hugo prostate massager. While it’s great to let you or your partner know how strong the Hugo is going, it isn’t quite discreet. And while the Hugo can muffle its noise, the remote can get a bit loud.
Lelo Hugo has two motors, one in the insertable side and one on the perineum appendage. The two motors can work independently as in regular intensity modes, creating strong vibrations for each appendage. While that is awesome enough for the strong, deep, rumbly and pleasuring vibrations they create, they can work together to create more.
In fact, many patterns work on the motors playing off or bouncing each other’s vibrations, creating very imaginative and enjoyable effects for the user. Take your time to find your favorite pattern and intensity, and I’m sure you will love it.
Where To Buy Lelo Hugo?
There are plenty of shops and stores selling Lelo Hugo. So be sure to buy it only from a well-reputed seller. I generally recommend purchasing directly from Lelo, as it is a sureshot way of getting good service, and their amazing 10-year quality guarantee. Lelo Hugo Dimensions And Build
Build Quality And Appearance
Lelo Hugo is built from the same velvety smooth silicone that is the hallmark of Lelo products. It’s amazing to touch and feel, and the matte finish gives it a soft, elegant appearance. It is a bit of an “L” shape, with the longer side for the anus, while the smaller side goes to massage and stimulate the perineum.
Its base has ABS plastic with Lelo branding in gold color, and along with it a spot to insert the charger. The plastic as well as the silicone are both hypoallergenic, phthalate-free, non-porous, and completely body safe.
A little cap extends on the charging port to make this vibrator/prostate massager waterproof. Just move the cap aside when you want to charge the Lelo Hugo, and secure it properly in its place when it’s time to use the Lelo Hugo. You can use this prostate massager safely in the shower or in the bath, and bring in that silicone covered remote for some creative fun.
The insertable side is about 4.2-inches long, though the insertable length is 3.4 inches. It has a circumference of about 4-inches at its widest point. Lelo Hugo’s perineum side is about 4-inches long, enough to give pleasurable vibrations and a massage to the perineum and some stimulation to the testicles.
Battery Specifications And Charging The Lelo Hugo
The charging port on the Lelo Hugo is at its base near the ABS plastic cover, and is accessed by removing a cap that covers the port. You can charge the gadget directly from a port on your computer, or through a USB wall-socket. As is usually the case, Lelo has included an annoying small cord that’s perhaps a few inches long.
That forces you to either charge it from your computer and place the prostate massager at the table, or to find a spot that’s just the right distance from the socket. The 420 mAh battery takes about two hours to charge, though it may take longer for the first charge. The usage time after a full charge is about 2 hours and the standby time is 90 days.
SenseMotion remote on the other hand, runs on two AAA batteries and can be at work for up to 10 hours. It’s a good idea to keep a few extra batteries at hand, considering the functions features of the Lelo Hugo are fairly dependent on the remote.
Lelo Hugo Review — Pros And Cons
- Comfortable to use, and allows freedom of movement
- Good range of vibrations going from slow to strong
- Dual motors make the Lelo Hugo powerful and create a range of effects
- Remote controlled
Lelo Hugo Review — The Bottom Line
As you can gather from the tone of this review, I recommend the Lelo Hugo. Most other reviews and plenty of customer reviews on the internet follow the same line – the Lelo Hugo is amazing. The only negative I can think of is that it is expensive, and let’s face it, with the features on offer and the build quality, the price is somewhat acceptable. It’s an amazing product, and if you can afford it, it’s not a purchase you’re likely to regret.
